Annuals
When the promise of spring has arrived and the days begin stretching longer, it's time to start thinking about the vibrant reminder of the season: annual flowers! Adding annuals to your garden brings you nonstop color all season long.
Annuals produce gorgeous color and sweet smelling scents and only last only one growing season.
Annuals are commonly used in patio pots and containers, which you'll have fun changing with the seasons.
Many folks around town consider our annuals "Denver's Best", and we've had some folks come in every year for decades, asking specifically for our hanging baskets.
One Season Only
Annuals
Annual plants cannot survive outside during the cold winter, so their bright colors only grace us through the spring and summer. Some last into the fall, and others still wait for the cooler season to bloom! Whenever they choose to open, though, they will inevitably die back and lose their flowers as the weather gets colder and colder.
Annuals will go through cycles throughout the spring and summer in which they will grow new buds, flower, and die off. This is perfectly natural. You can help encourage your plant to reflower by pruning back any wilted or dead stems, or "dead-heading" the plant!
